Halloween 2013

We had been brainstorming Halloween costumes for several months (I know I'm weird, but I love to dress up my family for Halloween & plan costumes way in advance!) before October and had come up with several ideas but when the girls saw the beautiful Merida costumes at Costco they both decided they wanted to be Merida!  I thought it was pretty funny since neither of them had actually seen Brave but they were insistent so I went with it, embraced my Scottish heritage and figured out a costume for me as Merida's mom, Queen Elinor and Geoff as Merida's father, King Fergus (well a less hairy, thinner, younger, more attractive King fergus;)
Here we are at our church dinner and trunk or treat party 10.29.13

After the trunk or treat-the girls were just a little bit excited about all their candy ;)

On Halloween night we were getting ready to trick or treat and Aya decided she did NOT want to be Merida and picked the Snow White dress from our dress up collection instead.
Aya and her best friend, Malia, were pulled by Daddy around to all the houses to trick or treat, doesn't get better than that!
Unless of course you get to go by golf cart!

And here it is all finished!

Our trick or treating crew
Halloween in Hawaii was fabulous!  We missed the crisp fall air, the falling leaves and other fall things we love in Utah but it was great to trick or treat in perfect weather (no one had to wear coats over their costumes!  No blizzard!) and get to meet all the fun friends we have here in Ko Olina.  Most people set up a beach chair on their front lawn & handed out candy so it was really fun.
